We invite original research and innovative projects that contribute to the expanding knowledge base of the vitiligo community—from breakthrough clinical trials to high-impact advocacy initiatives.
Scientific data only matters when it changes lives. While typical conferences act as a warehouse for abstracts desperately waiting for attention, the WVD 2026 Abstract Competition is a filter for real-world impact.
Bring work that can shift practice, guide trials, or strengthen care pathways—and present it to the people who shape research, run studies, and lead vitiligo advocacy worldwide.
Don’t just present data. Lead the conversation.
KEY THEMES 2026

Submission Mandate
Submissions must align with at least one 2026 key theme. We reward precision, not volume.
Structure: Clinical/scientific abstracts must use IMRAD scheme (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion). Advocacy/community projects must use a structured format that includes measurement and outcomes (e.g., Background, Intervention, Measurement, Outcomes).
Originality: Work must not have been previously presented at a national or international meeting before April 2026. If preliminary findings were shared elsewhere, disclose it—transparency helps us place the work appropriately.
Review: All abstracts are reviewed by the WVD Scientific Committee for relevance, clarity, and methodological integrity. We prioritize clear methods, measurable outcomes, and conclusions supported by results.
Length: Maximum 300 words.
Language: All submissions and presentations must be in English.
Disclosure & Transparency: Authors must disclose any financial interests or relationships with pharmaceutical or medtech companies.
Categories and Recognition
Oral Flash Communications: The top five abstracts will be selected for a high-intensity, five-minute presentation on the main stage.
Scientific E-Posters: All accepted abstracts will be featured in our digital poster gallery during the three-day Congress and included in our global "long-tail" media coverage through year-end.
Awards: The WVD Global Excellence Award (Clinical/Scientific) and the Advocacy Innovation Prize (Research-to-Real-World Impact).
